Tone on Tone Metallic Stripes

Stripes are in! Were they ever out? This two-tone striped effect was achieved using Ralph Lauren Regent Metallics paint. Painted stripes can be a do-it-yourself project if you have a lot of time and patience. Otherwise, hire a professional.

Metallic stripes are a perfect choice for a small, previously plain powder room.

Goodbye White Walls!

The painter applies the lighter of the two colors to the entire wall. And don't forget the ceiling! The designer chose a silver metallic paint to contrast with the two golden tones on the walls.

Measure and Tape

Measure and mark the stripes on the wall. A laser level comes in very handy. Run tape along both edges of the stripes which are to be painted the darker color.

Applying Second Color

Painter applies the darker color to the stripes.
